Principles of Strategic Web Development

There are 5 main principles one must take into consideration when developing a website to make sure that it stays on strategy.

Define The Purpose for The Website
What is the site selling. How fast can a user determine the nature of the site?

Identify The Audience
Who is the site selling to?

Formulate a Communication Strategy
What does the audience need to know about the site’s service/product? In what tone of voice are you going to speak to them? If you are selling a technical product will the specific target audience understand all of the technical jargon associated with the product, or will you need to write the content using terms the general public will understand without the need of a dictionary?

Develop A Visual Language
Through the use of consistent navigation, color and imagery you create an environment where the user will feel comfortable. The more comfortable the user is the more likely they are to return at a later date.

Measuring Effectiveness
How well does the site perform after launch?
