Jed’s Other Poem (Beautiful Ground)

Q: What do you get when you cross an Apple II+, the music of Grandaddy, and a whole lot of time on your hands?

A: One amazing example of video typography in it’s purest form.

Watch Movie

Stewart Smith created this unsolicited music video, then presented it to the band, who then approved it. He programmed this video entirely in Applesoft BASIC on a vintage 1979 Apple II+ with 48K of RAM. I do believe that this is the first open-source music video, code available on website. If you have an applesoft emulator, you can download the source code for free from his website. Check it out on his website.
